Hey Reader! It's almost August and I've been putting off updating y'all on all the things that have been going on behind the scenes in July! ๐ Lots of new work and life stuff listed below!
1.Walmart mural
Ahhh! I'm excited to share that I worked on a vinyl mural with Create Now in partnership with Walmart! ๐ฑ It was for the Walmart in Denton that celebrates landmarks in my hometown! This vinyl mural looked so good, and no back-breaking painting necessary! ๐๐ป Fun fact: I had signed on for this project over a YEAR ago, and then they wanted this project done in a WEEK ๐ฎโ๐จ (Don't worry, I got a little extra time, cause a week for this size project was insane) I'm so excited for y'all to see this in-person if you're in Denton, or click the link to see the project!
It's taken me over a YEAR to get my butt in gear, but I'm SO excited to share that you can get you very first Michaela Made enamel pin! This has given me so much more confidence creating something like this, and I LOVE how they turned out! Email back what new designs you wanna see next!
New prints & sticker sheet! I took a riso workshop with Softspots Riso and printed my first riso print myself and it was so fun! I've been slowly prepping to invest in a printer of my own soon. In the meantime, I've added a few new prints to the shop including a red color wave of the White Rabbit in mid-size and 11x17!
Just sent these to print! I've really been pushing myself to explore new product categories, so sneak peek on what I'm hoping to bring to Pop Cats next weekend and these will be in the shop by then for y'all to shop online too!
5. We got a house!
Just finished moving into our HOUSE (still in Dallas area)! I've been on Fb Marketplace scouring furniture deals (including both couches in the living room & studio). I don't find thrifting particularly "fun," but I love finding something on a budget! I plan to put together a proper studio tour video and hang all of my art print collection, but here's some exclusive pics of the progress!
6. Currently Reading
๐ Slow Productivity: I've enjoyed most of Cal Newport's recent books including Deep Work and Digital Minimalism have been really helpful in minimizing distractions and validating for my mental health when I felt burnt out in my day job. In this book he expands on slowing down and still getting things done. I've been enjoying it so far!
Also been casually reading Interior Chinatown, but haven't enjoyed the writing as much. There is a tv show on Hulu that I might watch adapted from this book starring Jimmy O. Yang.

โ I only have a couple pop ups until we get to the holidays. We'll be in Japan in Sept/Oct, so not as many markets, but be on the lookout for pictures! I'll chat more about that the closer September gets, but as always, thanks for being here! ๐
