3. New Youtube Video: My Planner Lineup
If you've ever had a chat with me about stationery, you will find that I'm a big collector of all things planners and journals! I filmed this video back at the end of last year, but finally got around to editing it! I talk through my lineup from last year and what I have been using this year! This is definitely something I'm passionate about, but let me know if you want to see more art-related content or if this stationery content has been cool for you to see to!
I debuted this piece last year after taking Softspots riso workshop, and after getting my own machine, was able to re-print these on my own! I love how the orange includes this cool gradient created by the flo pink and yellow blending together and was totally unintentional, but works perfectly!
Thanks for following my saga about my red drum, but I did get it fixed! The first time was a blocked sensor that thought it had inked up the drum when it didn't and required "surgery" and the second time it was a misaligned drum which ended up being a simple fix. Now, I have finally been able to "riso-fy" my Texas Chica prints with the red into mid-size and tabloid size (coming soon)!
π Reading: After taking Riley's Desk Making Washi workshop (you can sign up for his workshop in Houston), I'm reviewing his zine he made talking through the process. I also started reading Walter Isaacson's book on Elon Musk. I liked his comprehensive perspective on Steve Jobs back in 2011 and I trust him to bring a balanced view of the different facets of this tech giant to light.
ποΈ Watching: We finished watching Severance s2 and what a finale! Very satisfied with the writing and acting this season, plus who doesn't love some good graphic design for film? I have been loving the analysis breakdowns from New Rockstars of all the episodes. I'm also still on the White Lotus s3 train and it's agonizing having to wait 2 more weeks for it to finish! So many regrets of starting it early, and it's truly been a slow burn to the finale.
My hopefully not too embarrassing haul from Stationery Fest. Obviously I had to grab lots of eye-catching riso pieces along with few new rolls of washi π
My completed stamp rally at Stationery Fest had some adorable stamps!
Finally got to see the bean!! Aka art majors will know it's actually Cloud Gate by Anish Kapoor.
Art Institute saw all the obligatory art pieces β I somehow forgot that in American Gothic, it's the farmer's DAUGHTER and not his wife standing next to him!
Best food we ate in Chicago was the pasta at Alla Vita recommended by my friend Zach. We also ate at Lou Milnati's and found it to be the best deep dish pizza we've had so far!
This was a long one, but hopefully interesting! As always, I appreciate your support (big or small) and thank you for being here! π
Until next time,
