2. Save the Date: Patreon launch June 1
Y'all have asked for a Riso Club for awhile and so I'm working on my Patreon tiers now and plan to launch June 1st! Let me know what you'd be excited to see next month!
3. I'm in the Dallas Show!
My Zodiac Wheel got accepted to DSVC (Dallas Society of Visual Communications) Dallas Show and will be juried to potentially win a design award in early June! This is a show that I never considered entering let alone get the chance to be a part of a show among agencies around Dallas, so I'm excited to see I how do! Wish me luck!
4. New Greeting Cards
I debuted a lot of new stationery items at Little Craft Fest, so this is a perfect time to browse and stock up on these new items! I'm really proud of how these came out and with the knowledge that I had held off from making greeting cards for such a long time, it's amazing the designs I was able to come out with in a short period of time. Funny how a deadline can get things done!
πΊ Watching:Sinners and Death of a Unicorn, both were dark and fantastical. Additionally, with all this fun news about the new Pope, I'd recommend Conclave cause it was both a great illustration of how they elect a new Pope and an intriguing twist at the end.
ποΈ Also Watching: Lots of nostalgic films like Lilo & Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon, and Tarzan! Mostly just admiring the beauty of traditional animation. Can we just sit and ask WHY Hollywood believes that we have to re-make everything live action to make it "better"? I also watched this hot take vlog about art school and I honestly agree with all of her points in why a traditional art school might not be for everyone these days.
If you want something more uplifting about an art journey I love this TED Talk by CJ Hendry.
π΅ Listening: To this single from James Alyn the other half of HYBS now solo artist. Such a bop.
β¨Behind the Scenesβ¨
I'm having guests over at the house for the first time and has thus motivated me to start hanging a lot of the art I've collected over the years. Mostly the cats have been knocking over the frames in the meantime, but excited to finally be putting up art on my walls!
This gachapon did really well at my market in San Antonio and it's crazy that I've had it for over a year before I've finally found a use for it! People LOVE a game, and it's fun to know you win something every time!
I have a few of these coloring books for sale that feature the artwork I created for Walmart in Denton!
